CGA 2021 Safety and Reliability of Industrial Gases, Equipment, and Facilities Seminar

October 12-13, 2021

McLean, Virginia, USA | Virtual

(CGA’s inaugural hybrid event: part of the CGAConnect 2021 family of online events, with limited capacity in-person registrations also available)

REGISTRATION HAS NOW CLOSED

Join us for the Compressed Gas Association’s first-ever hybrid event! On October 12-13, 2021, our longest running seminar – first held in 1962 – returns as both a two-day webinar series, and as a limited capacity in-person event hosted by CGA in McLean, Virginia.

Since CGA’s founding in 1913, it has been our mission to promote ever improving safe, secure, and environmentally responsible manufacture, transportation, storage, transfilling, and disposal of industrial, medical, and food gases and their containers. Consistent with that mission, CGA is proud to present the 2021 Safety & Reliability of Industrial Gases, Equipment, and Facilities Seminar.

Last year, 118 individuals from nearly 20 countries participated in the 2-part, all-virtual CGA 2020 Safety & Reliability Seminar – almost double the number of people who attended the 2019 seminar, which was held in the traditional in-person format. We are hoping to match or exceed last year’s participation numbers for our 2021 hybrid event.

Open to CGA members and members of affiliated associations, this seminar focuses on improving the safe operation of air separation facilities and processes. Industry experts from around the world will present, sharing insights on a range of topics, including:

  • HYCO plant catalyst safety and design considerations for safe operation
  • Project safety review process
  • Enhancement of safety programs
  • Cold box casing safety upgrade program
  • Quality assurance of instrument tubing support bracket fabrication/installation
  • Spillage detection and management for flat bottom storage tanks
  • Retrofit barrier designs for oxygen compressors
  • Nitrous oxide reactor relief valves
  • High pressure oxygen pipelines
  • Oxygen system safety improvements
  • Liquid disposal systems
  • Cryogenic liquid dump vaporizers
  • Panel discussion on safe design and operation of flat bottom tanks

Who Should Participate?

Plant managers, designers, engineers, operators, safety personnel, and anyone who interacts with air separation operations and processes.

Whether you attend virtually or in-person, we hope you’ll join us for this event, which has long played a crucial role in advancing safety in our industry.

Use the expanding menus below to view the full meeting program as well as all details on how to register for the meeting and make hotel reservations. This page will be updated as event details change, so be sure to refresh your browser to see the latest information.

Virtual Registration Closes: 11:59PM (Eastern) Sunday, October 10, 2021

Safety & Reliability Seminar Sponsorship Program

For the first time this year, a limited number of sponsorships will be made available for this event. By helping to underwrite live streaming and other program costs, sponsoring companies demonstrate their commitment to industry safety, while enabling CGA to make this invaluable programming available to a wider audience.

Event sponsorships will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and are available only to CGA member companies. To learn more, see the “Sponsors” section below, or contact Sarah Saunders, CGA’s Director of Marketing and Communications, at 703-395-0696.

Overview

CGA is bringing industry safety leaders together for our first hybrid event: the CGA 2021 Safety & Reliability of Industrial Gases, Equipment, and Facilities Seminar. This year’s seminar offers two experiences: in-person and virtual.

Due to social distancing requirements, a maximum of 40 people may be accommodated for the in-person event. We will confirm the first 40 individuals who register for the in-person seminar and pay in full. A waitlist will be maintained on a first come, first serve basis, for any additional in-person registration requests. In order to be added to the in-person waitlist, interested individuals must first complete and pay for virtual registration.

An unlimited number of qualifying participants (CGA members and members of affiliated organizations) may register for the virtual seminar.

Who should participate in the seminar? Plant managers, designers, engineers, operators, safety personnel, and anyone who interacts with air separation operations and processes.

Registration for this seminar is open to CGA members and members of the following affiliated organizations:
